Product registration
Registration instructions presented below are applicable for WinGDB 3.x or later.
For earlier versions (1.x and 2.x), please open respective online help pages (WinGDB/Help menu)
and follow the instructions contained there.
- After successful purchase the distributor will send an e-mail with registration keys to address
specified in Order Form. Format of this mail will be similar to this one below (keys are
surrounded with red rim, black rectangulars inside keys are there intentionally):
- Copy keys from mail and run a "Register" option in WinGDB menu. Then choose
"I have purchased a license key but not registered yet" and click OK.
-
Each key is intended to be assigned to one machine (node-locked license)
via registration. In case you have bought upgrade license, insert base key and all
upgrade keys (only one key per line). Keys can be distributed among all users, so
each user can register in this way.
-
However, registration system is flexible and the whole bulk of all numbers can simply be passed
to every user, as if it were a single key. During the registration, the system will automatically
pull the first free key from the list, for each new machine it recognizes (registration system
uses hardware info from the network card and the CPU).
-
After keys have been copied, click OK. The "Registration mail submission" dialog
will appear:
-
License request data from previous dialog should be copied to clipboard automatically (with use of
"Open e-mail client") or manually with Ctrl+C, and then pasted into the e-mail client. The window with contents of request
in mail-client should look similiar to this one below (recipient address should be
license_request@wingdb.com):
Please send that e-mail to license_request@wingdb.com,
best without any additional text. If possible, please use plain text mode. Avoid using Lotus
Notes e-mail client, as it is known to have problems.
Registration mails are processed by an automated service operating 24/7. In case you do
not receive a response or receive an error message, please look
here
for further instructions.
-
Within 24 hours license server will send the answer. Copy text surrounded with red
rim (including both LicenseInfo tags).
-
Run "Register" option in WinGDB menu. Then choose "I have registered, but not activated my copy yet"
and click OK.
-
